Have you ever accidentally removed a site from Solid Central, only to realize you still needed access to its data? Or worse, had a site disappear from your account without your knowledge? Losing access to critical backups, timeline history, and monitoring data can be a major setback. That’s why we’re introducing the Rescue Deleted Sites Update—a powerful new feature that allows you to recover sites and their data for up to 30 days after deletion.
What Does This Update Do?
Previously, when a site was removed from Solid Central, data loss was permanent unless you contacted Support within a short timeframe. Now, any site that is deleted will be placed in a “recently deleted” state for 30 days, allowing you to easily restore it along with essential data, including:
- Timeline entries
- Uptime history (for Central Pro sites with uptime monitoring enabled)
- Backups from Solid Backups — NextGen
- Server connection details
- And more!
Restoring a Deleted Site is Simple
If you need to recover a site within the 30-day window, just reconnect it to your Central account. Once restored, all available site-related data will be reinstated, including uptime history that continued to be tracked even while the site was disconnected.
Why This Matters
This update solves two major issues:
- Accidental or malicious site removal – In some situations, a site can be disconnected from Central without the account holder’s knowledge, leading to unexpected data loss.
- Lack of self-service recovery – Users had to contact Support within a short timeframe to recover data. Now, restoration is self-serve and hassle-free.
Important Notes
- Backups, timeline entries, and vulnerability data will NOT be recorded while a site is in a disconnected state.
- If a site remains disconnected for more than 30 days, its data will be permanently deleted.
- Reactivation requires an available license for any previously licensed products (Central Pro, Backups — NextGen). If a license is unavailable, users will be prompted to purchase or reassign licenses.
