Solid Backups Maintenance Release 9.1.4

Solid Backups 9.1.4 fixes a laundry list of bugs our users have helpfully reported since the 9.1 release.

Jennifer Schramm

Today, we have issued a maintenance release of Solid Backups — version 9.1.4. This release is part of our commitment to respond to user feedback rapidly. Solid Backups 9.1.4 addresses some errors and warnings Solid Backups users experienced and reported to us.

What was addressed and fixed in Backups 9.1.4:

  • ZIP file archive fails to complete: Backup halted.
    Users have reported this issue in a range of different environments. The .zip archive failed to finish and the backup was not completed because a key file was locked and unreadable due to overly restrictive permissions on the temporary folder holding it. This has been fixed.
  • fileoptions ERROR_LOCKED with failed upload to destination.
    Backup processes were failing with ERROR_LOCKED warnings appearing during the backup archive creation, the transfer to a remote destination, or the creation of the .zip archive. This error occurred during full backups, whereas smaller backups restricted to a site database, plugins, and/or themes did not experience this problem. It has been fixed.
  • PHP Fatal Error
    For customers with BackupBuddy 8.8.0 and PHP version 8.1.9, a PHP Fatal Error was potentially reported when accessing the BackupBuddy -> Backups page. This error appeared when a backup was not fully completed. It has been fixed.
  • phpinfo() Error
    For customers whose host disabled the phpinfo() function, manual backup attempts would produce a fatal error during the backup process. This has been fixed.
  • File and Directory Defaults Selector Issue
    In Backup Buddy 8.8.4, the selector form for excluding files and folders for backup was nested when you expanded a folder. With Solid Backups 9.0, folders inside a directory you expand do not nest with the parent. This resulted in a poor user experience — when a folder is expanded, it should be nested (indented) for readability. MacOS, Google Chrome, WordPress V6 3.2, 8.8.4, and 9.0.0 environments were not showing proper nesting. This issue has been fixed.
  • Incorrect Help Link
  • Previously, a broken link for “Help setting up S3” was visible when users added an Amazon S3 backup destination. This link has been updated and now points to https://aws.amazon.com/s3/ as expected.
  • Restore process triggers a flood of Action Scheduler actions in the database.
    After a restore using Solid Backups, a flood of Action Scheduler notifications appeared in the database. These were almost exclusively:

    0 => 'process_restore_queue' 1 => array ( 0 => 'ew531js0zc-6567c4d134f4d', )

    and followed by:

    0 => 'process_restore_queue' 1 => array ( 0 => 0, )

    This high-priority item was addressed, and action scheduler logs are no longer filled with completed actions.

The 9.1.4 release is available now via automatic updates in WordPress sites where Solid Backups is installed. You may also download it from your SolidWP member panel at my.solidwp.com.
