Solid Security Pro 8.0.3 Release Notes

Solid Security Pro 8.0.3 is a minor maintenance and security release that fixes several bugs and adds a WP-CLI command to define Solid Security Pro licensed sites.

Today, we released Solid Security Pro 8.0.3. It’s available now for automatic updates in WordPress, or you may download it from your SolidWP member panel at my.solidwp.com. This is a minor release that fixes several bugs and enhances WP-CLI functionality.

With this release, only WordPress users with the promote_user and edit_user capabilities will be able to use Solid Security Pro’s Privilege Escalation feature to increase another user’s privileges for a limited time. Previously, the edit_user capability was sufficient to enable the Privilege Escalation feature.

Additionally, when Solid Security Pro is hiding a WordPress site’s back-end login URL, it won’t be possible to detect the actual URL during comment registration, as was previously the case. Thanks to Naveen Muthusamy for reporting this bug and helping us harden this feature.

Solid Security Basic 9.0.1 was released on October 31, 2023 with the same bug fixes as Solid Security Pro 8.0.3.

Solid Security Basic 9.0.2 followed on November 1, 2023 as a hotfix to restore some missing plugin files to SVN at the WordPress.org plugin repository. No code was changed, but this action required incrementing the plugin version number.
