As you know, we’re rebranding publicly, and iThemes is becoming SolidWP. This transition includes new and enhanced features plus a complete interface redesign for our products. In this webinar, our lead developer, Timothy Jacobs, demonstrates some big new features coming to Solid Security — the plugin formerly known as iThemes Security.

In the video, you’ll get a tour of:

  • the improved dashboard interface
  • passkeys and the passwordless login experience
  • the all-new firewall
  • virtual patches that protect you when you need them most

Nathan Ingram hosted this sneak preview of the all-new Solid Security. He fielded many terrific questions from the live audience for Timothy and Matt Cromwell, our Senior Director of Customer Experience at StellarWP, so check out that discussion in the last 30 minutes.

Video Highlights:

  • (7:20) The all-new Solid Security dashboard shows you the current bans, lockouts, recent threats blocked, site scan results, user security profiles, and any vulnerable software.
  • (7:30) Our newest Patchstack integration — Virtual Patches! Virtual patches work as dynamic rules in Solid Security’s new firewall, delivering only the rules you need to block active exploits on vulnerable plugins you have on your site. This is the best balance between security and performance. It’s also a unique feature for our paying customers; it’s not part of Solid Security Basic. Basic users still get vulnerable software detection and information provided by Patchstack’s vulnerability database.
  • (15:05) The new Solid Security firewall with custom block rules. Solid Security will automatically add block rules when it identifies suspicious behavior, but you may add your own rules too.
  • (17:55) The new Site Scan panel tells you all the risks it finds — in plain, actionable sentences like, “Bob Smith has Administrator privileges and a weak password.” You’ll be informed of inactive users, rogue WordPress installs you forgot about, and vulnerabilities in WordPress core, plugins, or themes. Any trouble surfacing in Google Safe Browsing, 2FA logins, or weak passwords gets called out here.
  • (22:56) The new User Security panel lets you quickly apply and manage a uniform security policy for all your users.
  • (26:50) SolidWP’s unique perspective on WordPress security focuses on preventing breaches so well you never need cleanup tools. User security and vulnerability mitigation are the keys to preventing hacked sites.
  • (28:57) “A firewall builds a fence around your house, not inside your house.”
  • (30:59) Q&A time! Matt and Timothy answer questions for the rest of the session (30 minutes) from customers and people watching live.
